This year the awards have sought real people, whose leadership has made a difference in Wales. Following the awards ceremony, Sam Lloyd said: “I am particularly pleased to have been recognised as a leader who has made a difference in Wales which is largely due to ensuring that my personal development in my role has been at the forefront of my strategy. My own personal development is achieved through being a member of Vistage (a key executive group from differing industries.) Key groups meet on a monthly basis and submit actions and goals, whilst sharing and consulting on challenges and best practices.” Barbara Chidgey, spokesperson for the Leading Wales Awards, said: “Sam Lloyd is a tremendous example of the impact of great leadership skills on an organisation. We are delighted to be able to celebrate the wealth of talent that exists in Wales and the fifth year for the awards has seen them grow even stronger. The calibre of entries never fails to impress the judges, who again had an extremely tough task in selecting the winners. Our aim is to champion good leadership and influence leadership development by identifying, recognising and celebrating individuals, who through their leadership contribute to the prosperity of Wales. This year’s nominees, finalists and award winners are tremendous individual examples of how leadership makes a real difference to our communities, businesses and to our lives.” Ruth Spellman OBE, Chief Executive of the Chartered Management Institute and sponsor for the Business with less than 250 employee’s category, said:“Sam’s award is a significant achievement because it highlights the benefits of leading by example, the importance of motivation and the value of taking the time to provide teams with a sense of vision. In the current economic climate organisations need individuals who can drive sustainable performance and demonstrate positive impact if we are to remain competitive and profitable – Sam’s award is recognition that he is one such individual.” Interview To arrange an interview with Sam Lloyd, please contact Hannah Caunter, Manager of Marketing and Events on 029 2045 1444 or at hannah.caunter@7side.co.uk.
